This endangered Loggerhead Turtle was rescued by Parks and Wildlife, Western Australia and was brought to the Perth Zoo in Australia for treatment. The sea turtle has been pooping out plastic ingested from the ocean.
The turtle is believed to be less than a year old. Loggerheads are an endangered species and are facing a variety of threats including overfishing, habitat destruction, water quality pollution and plastic pollution
The their populations declining in part due to pollution such as plastic waste.
In the video, you can see some of the plastic excreted by the turtle just in front of it. Just remember, every piece of plastic we use is going somewhere and all too often, that somewhere is the ocean.
